The Center for Quantum Technologies of Moscow State University has launched a secure quantum telephony line that will connect 20 subscriber points on the campus of Moscow State University on the Leninsky Mountains. The nodes of the network will be the Faculty of Physics, the Main Building and the Center for Quantum Technologies itself. The maximum distance between the objects will be 50 kilometers. This is reported by "Vesti".
In 2021, the network will be integrated with the infotex network. By the end of 2021, the network will be fully put into trial operation, protected from invisible intrusions from outside.
It is reported that the quantum network will be built on the quantum cryptographic key generation and distribution system ViPNet Quantum Security System (ViPNet QSS), developed by infotex in collaboration with the Center for Quantum Technologies of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The system operates in a "Star" topology (when all nodes are attached to a central node) and distributes encryption keys between trusted zones.
It is assumed that in the future this quantum network will be multi-node. It will work for the benefit of the city, and secure channels will connect the networks of different organizations.
