The Turkish company ASELSAN announced on December 31, 2020 that it received a contract for $ 38 million for the supply of its own Serdar combat modules with an anti-tank missile launcher and a Seda firearm detection system.
"ASELSAN and the international customer signed a contract with a total value of 38,266,780 US dollars for the export of anti-tank missile launch systems, inertial navigation systems and firepoint detection systems," ASELSAN said in a statement.
The international customer is likely to be Qatar. Earlier, Qatar purchased from Turkey 100 armored vehicles Yörük (4 × 4) and 400 vehicles Ejder Yalçın (4 × 4), which are produced at the facilities of the Turkish company Nurol Makina.
The Ejder Yalçın armored vehicle from Nurol Makina with a Serdar combat module with an anti-tank missile launcher accommodates nine fighters. It is designed to perform various tasks - such as air defense, anti-tank warfare, reconnaissance, management, mine clearance, etc.
The Yörük armored vehicle, in turn, can transport up to seven personnel. It has a V-shaped hull, making it more suitable for escort missions and convoy support missions.
The ordered systems from ASELSAN are installed on these armored vehicles from Nurol Makina.
In August 2020, Qatar placed an order for an additional supply of Turkish armored vehicles . A contract was signed between Qatar's Barzan Holdings and Nurol Makina, a subsidiary of Turkey's Nurol Holdings.
Delivery of the first batch of machines from Norul Makina will take place in 2021, which coincides with the expected delivery of ASELSAN systems. The Qatari military will receive the second batch of cars in 2022.
From the bmpd side, we recall that the Aselsan Serdar combat module (a modified version of the well-known Aselsan SARP Dual combat module) includes four PK-2S anti-tank guided missile launchers of the Ukrainian Skif ATGM (Stugna-P) developed by the Kiev State Enterprise "GKKB Luch". The completion of tests of this module together with Aselsan was announced by the Luch State Design Bureau in May 2018. Deliveries of these combat modules to Qatar to equip the Turkish Nurol Ejder Yalçın III 4x4 MRAP class armored vehicles it receives were also started in 2018.
