The head of state discussed this possibility with the head of the company, Elon Musk, during a telephone conversation, Bloomberg reported on Saturday.
"The President invited SpaceX to build the site, Musk noted that in January next year, experts will arrive in Jakarta to discuss all the details," the office of the coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and investment said in a statement.
Earlier, the Indonesian authorities announced plans to build their own spaceport on the island of Biak in the province of Papua. From a geographical point of view, this place is considered one of the best for launching heavy missiles.
