MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. The state Commission decided to complete flight tests of the Electro-L satellite number 3. the System is recommended to be used for its intended purpose, the press service of Roscosmos told TASS.
"The meeting of the state Commission has ended. It was decided to complete flight tests of the Electro space system with the electro-L number 3 spacecraft AND recommend the SPACECRAFT for use for its intended purpose," the state Corporation noted.
As specified in the press service, the hydrometeorological geostationary space system "Electro "will use two satellites" Electro-L "number 2 (launched in December 2015) at a standing point of 14.5 degrees West longitude, and" Electro-L " number 3 (launched in December last year) at a standing point of 76 degrees East longitude.
Electro-L spacecraft are being developed and manufactured in accordance with the Federal space program of Russia. These devices are part of the geostationary hydrometeorological space system "Electro" and are designed to provide divisions of the Federal service for Hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring, as well as other departments with operational hydrometeorological information.
The first two vehicles of this series were launched using the Russian-Ukrainian Zenit launch vehicle in 2011 and 2015, and the third with the Russian proton-M rocket in 2019.
