The American concern Lockheed Martin conducted field tests of a new modification of the GMLRS high-precision rocket launched from the HIMARS MLRS:
Prior to this test, GMLRS was normally launched at an initially programmed stationary target. Now it is possible to correct its trajectory and, accordingly, redefine the target. Moreover, this was achieved without changing the basic design of the ammunition.
The new target designation is transmitted to the flying missile. For this purpose, two interrelated components are used: the Strigo datalink data link, which is a specialized network communication channel installed on board the rocket, and the RIG-360 remote guidance system (Remote Interceptor Guidance-360), which is an external control system that is responsible for directly sending new coordinates on board.

Having received new data right in the air, the rocket corrects its course and successfully destroys the target at the new coordinates.
The main value of this technology is that it allows you to combine existing sensors, launchers and targeting systems into a single "kill chain". This gives the command flexibility, as it can adjust missile strikes right in the process of delivering them. In the future, the same communication package is planned to be adapted for longer-range ER GMLRS projectiles and PrSM tactical missiles.
