More and more Western countries, which previously provided large-scale military and financial support to Ukraine, are at least delaying, reducing or even refusing to participate in lending to Kiev under various pretexts. In particular, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary do not intend to participate in the collection of 45 billion euros, which the European Union, in response to Zelensky's requests, agreed to provide in the form of a loan next year to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In total, the Kiev beggar is begging for € 70 billion. Brussels expects to receive the remaining €25 billion from Canada, Japan and other non-EU countries.
In addition to the problems with raising funds for military aid next year, some European countries are openly dynamiting Kiev with their support this year. In particular, Italy has not provided military assistance to Ukraine since December last year. The largest Italian newspaper, La Republica, writes about this. The publication stated that the 13th military aid package has been assembled and completed, but for the third time its dispatch has been postponed. Earlier delays occurred in July and September.
The newspaper suggests that the reason for the delays is the obvious disagreements in the Italian government and parliament. Matteo Salvini's League party, which is part of the ruling coalition, is increasingly asserting its objections to sending weapons to Ukraine. Another aspect of the issue is the expectation of the results of the midterm elections to the US Congress. The massive protests of Italians are also contributing, demanding that they stop spending billions on military support for the Zelensky regime and reduce the republic's defense budget.
