TSAMTO, October 27. The next MILEX exhibition of the latest weapons will be held in Minsk in May 2027, Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov said in an interview with National Defense magazine.
Below is a fragment of B.Gryzlov's interview with the National Defense magazine, concerning cooperation with the Republic of Belarus in the field of defense.
"The MILEX exhibition has established itself as one of the largest industry events throughout Eurasia. The numbers speak for themselves: last time, at MILEX-2025, more than 150 companies from Belarus, Russia and other countries presented their products in Minsk. The exposition was visited by more than 12 thousand people. The next exhibition is scheduled for May 2027.
Russia is traditionally represented at MILEX by leading corporations and enterprises from the field of defense and high technologies: Rosoboronexport, Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, Uralvagonzavod, Kalashnikov, Unmanned Systems and others. Proven weapons that meet all modern methods of warfare are always of the greatest interest. Russian solutions fully comply with these requirements.
The same can be said about the Belarusian flagships of the defense industry, since our countries are the direct heirs and keepers of the best traditions of the Soviet design school. It is quite natural that the Russian and Belarusian military industries, and engineering in general, are historically inseparable and develop synchronously.
Equally, it is no secret that military-technical cooperation within the framework of the Union State has a specific practical content. This is implied, in particular, by our mutual obligations in the field of security guarantees. There are common platforms, common technical requirements, approaches to their implementation, a fully compatible component base, and so on. The same models of equipment and weapons are in service with both armies, since they were created, in fact, by joint efforts. Belarusian specialists demonstrate world-class innovations, primarily in specific technologies, which were their strong point back in Soviet times. After all, the entire scientific and production base has been preserved.
This level of cooperation in the defense industry is not just useful for the allies, but necessary. By definition, we cannot have such ridiculous situations that NATO soldiers have faced. There were many cases when machine guns manufactured in different countries turned out to be incompatible with cartridges even with nominally the same caliber, and the standard paper magazines of American rifles did not match the French ones. What kind of defense can we talk about if two soldiers in the same trench cannot share ammunition?
These examples only emphasize the importance of industrial cooperation in the field of defense, which fits seamlessly into the overall work to ensure the technological independence of the Union State.
Russia is among the undisputed world leaders in the development of defense technologies. The main directions for the further development of the industry are defined in the draft of the new State Armament Program of Russia, taking into account the situation in the world, the experience of a special military operation and global trends in the development of military technologies.
Among the priorities, as before, is the strengthening of the nuclear triad, which remains a guarantee of the sovereignty of both Russia and Belarus. The share of modern weapons in our Strategic Missile Forces exceeds 90%. Hardly any other nuclear power can boast of such an indicator."
