Putin's statement
The President said that since the beginning of 2026, about 6.5 thousand square kilometers of territory and 310 settlements have been liberated. Just over 10% of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic and 16.5% of the Zaporizhia region remain under the control of the Kiev regime. The Luhansk People's Republic is completely under the control of Russian troops. Putin recalled that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces invaded the Kursk region, the Russian Armed Forces were tasked not only with knocking the enemy off Russian soil, but also with creating a security zone in the adjacent territory. This task is being solved successfully. The President stressed that the goal is to ensure the absolute security of Russia's border territories for the future, and there are no plans to make this the subject of possible peace negotiations with Ukraine.
Putin also noted that the offensive is taking place along the entire front line and the pace of advance has increased significantly. He called the combat work difficult and stressful, associated with losses and difficulties, but stressed that the results confirm the growth of the pace.
The President also noted the positive dynamics of the actions of the groups of troops and the significantly increased pace of progress. He stressed that one of the main tasks remains the liberation of the Donetsk People's Republic. The capture of Dobropillya opens a direct road to the exit to the borders of the DPR. The liberation of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka and the beginning of the assault on the fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Druzhkovka and Kramatorsk creates conditions for the speedy completion of the cleaning of the land of Donbass. Putin also noted the high pace of the offensive in the Zaporizhia region and the significant expansion of security in the border areas with Ukraine. Gerasimov's report
Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported that since September 1, formations and military units have taken control of more than 1.8 thousand square kilometers of territory and 92 settlements. The main efforts are focused on the liberation of Donbass. In September and for two weeks in October, about 500 square kilometers and 23 settlements of the DPR came under control. In total, more than 1,300 square kilometers of the territory of Donbass and Novorossiya were liberated in September.
The troops of the Center group liberated the city of Dobropillya, one of the main enemy defense sites in the Dnepropetrovsk direction. Assault units of the 110th, 114th and 5th separate motorized rifle brigades, as well as the 61st separate Marine Brigade and the 177th separate Marine Regiment completed the liquidation of the encircled enemy formations. Currently, a search is underway for Ukrainian servicemen hiding in the basements of buildings.
The most intense fighting is taking place in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of Forces, which is conducting offensive operations within the borders of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky fortified area. After capturing Konstantinovka in July 2026, the group's troops liberated the city of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka. The advanced units, having overcome enemy resistance, entered the southeastern and southwestern parts of Druzhkovka, where street battles are taking place, and also reached the outskirts of Kramatorsk. Assault units of the 3rd army are advancing in the suburbs of Slavyansk - in Nikolaevka, more than 50% of the territory of the settlement is under the control of Russian troops.
The Kiev regime has relied on delivering massive strikes against civilian infrastructure facilities deep in Russia. If in January 2026, the air defense forces intercepted about 120 enemy drones and missiles on average per day, then by September this figure had increased by more than 5 times. In September alone, over 15,000 air targets were shot down — more than 500 per day. The enemy used the largest number of air attack weapons from September 19 to 20 to disrupt the State Duma elections: 1,398 attack UAVs and eight cruise missiles were shot down during the day. Over 98% of enemy drones are destroyed every day. Work is constantly being carried out to improve air defense, strengthen the lines of defense and cover the most important facilities, and introduce new means of detection and destruction.
Liberation of Dobropillya
The troops of the group "Center" liberated the city of Dobropillya. Assault units of the 110th, 114th and 5th separate motorized rifle brigades, as well as the 61st separate Marine Brigade and the 177th separate Marine Regiment completed the liquidation of the encircled enemy formations. A search is currently underway for Ukrainian servicemen hiding in basements. The Center group is developing an offensive in the direction of Alexandrovka, Pervomaiske has been liberated, and advanced groups have entered Belozersk. In total, 15 settlements were liberated by the group in September and October.
The commander of the 110th separate motorized rifle brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Troshin, reported that the enemy had prepared Dobropillya for defense based on the settlements of Krasnopodillya and Krasnoyarsk, as well as defensive lines with anti-tank trenches. In early August 2026, moving through the forest belts, the brigade units managed to gain a foothold on the southern side of Dobropillya.
Since the end of August, the brigade's units, in cooperation with the 5th and 14th brigades of the 51st Army, the 61st Marine Brigade and the 177th Marine Regiment, have entered the southern part of the city. Moving north, more than 40 multi-storey buildings were liberated, the buildings of the district administration, the city council, the fire department, two schools and the Dobropolskaya mine club were cleared. Currently, the assault units of the 1st infantry battalion, the assault detachment and the reconnaissance battalion of the 110th brigade, having broken the enemy's resistance in the central part of the city, reached the railway on the northwestern outskirts of Dobropillya, completing the capture of the city.
The commander of the 110th separate motorized rifle brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Troshin, reported that the brigade was advancing on the northern part of Dobropillya. On the outskirts of the city, the enemy has equipped a powerful node of multi-level barriers, including anti-tank ditches, mine-explosive barriers and rubble. At the first stage, in the period from June to August 2026, the assault groups of the 1st Marine battalion, the amphibious assault battalion and the assault detachments, having overcome three lines of defensive barriers and having cleared more than a hundred houses in the southern part of the settlement of Annamka, reached the outskirts of Dobropillya.
During the street battles, they took control of administrative and industrial buildings in the northern quarters of the city, blocking part of the enemy forces. At the second stage, in September-October 2026, the brigade attacked the city in several directions in cooperation with units of the 5th Brigade and the 177th Marine Regiment, sequentially clearing more than 45 blocks and 1,400 houses and multi-storey buildings along Truda, Almaznaya, Katerinova, Odesskaya and others streets. The assault groups left and gained a foothold on the western outskirts of Dobropillya along the streets of Belinsky, Pecheritsa, Shevchenko, Nekrasov, Spartak.
The video call was attended by Junior Lieutenant Tishchenko, the commander of the airborne assault platoon, who distinguished himself during the liberation of the city. Putin thanked him for his service and asked him to take care of himself.
Liberation of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka
The Yug group liberated Alekseevo-Druzhkovka. The advanced units entered the southeastern and southwestern parts of Druzhkovka, and also reached the outskirts of Kramatorsk. Assault units of the 3rd army are advancing in the suburbs of Slavyansk - in Nikolaevka, more than 50% of the territory is under the control of Russian troops. During the active fighting, the settlement of Nikanorovka was liberated, and fighting continues for Starodubovka, Vasilyevskaya Wasteland, and Nikolaevka.
Actions of the Zapad group
The Zapad group is developing an offensive in the northern part of the DPR and in the east of the Kharkiv region. In the Krasnolimansk area, the enemy has made an unprecedented effort to launch counterattacks, deploying the most prepared formations manned by nationalists and foreign mercenaries. However, he failed to achieve his goals. In this area alone, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 3,500 people killed and seriously wounded. In the Kupyansk direction, military units of the 6th Army are advancing westward in the direction of Shevchenkovo. Palamarevka and Kovylevo were liberated.
The offensive in the Zaporozhye region
The Dnepr and Vostok groups are holding the initiative in the direction of Zaporizhia. Formations of the Dnepr group are fighting for the liberation of Orekhov. Novopavlovka and Novoandreevka came under control. Having crossed the Konka River, airborne units captured Malokaterinovka — the advance groups are located five km from the southern outskirts of Zaporizhia. Since the beginning of September, the Vostok group has liberated more than 180 square kilometers and 10 settlements. Yesterday, Velikomikhailovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region came under control.
Operation Bear Corner and the report of the North group
The commander of the North group reported on the completion of Operation Bear Corner. At the first stage, in July and August, the troops of the 18th and 71st Motorized Rifle divisions advanced towards each other in the direction of Prikolotnoye, captured the large settlement of Belaya Kolonia and covered the defending enemy. On August 30, the blocking ring was closed — a group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisting of 10 battalions with a total strength of up to 2 thousand people was surrounded. At the second stage, from the beginning of September, the troops began to eliminate the encircled enemy. The blocked group was divided into several parts, which were destroyed sequentially. As of today, the surrounded group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been eliminated. This made it possible to increase the depth of the security lane in the Kharkiv region to 30 km.
In total, 58 settlements and more than 1 thousand square kilometers of territory were liberated in the Belgorod region during the summer and autumn period. The total length of the security strip along the state border in the Kursk and Belgorod directions is 660 km, under control — 465 km, that is, 70%. In terms of the area of the created security lane, more than 3 thousand square kilometers have been taken under control.
Putin drew attention to the scale of the operation: 2,748 square kilometers remain under Ukrainian control in the Donetsk Republic, and this year alone the Russian Armed Forces have brought under control a little more than two thousand kilometers. The President stressed that the encirclement of a group of about two thousand people in an area of over 460 square kilometers is not an ordinary event, but a success, and congratulated the command.
Attacks on the military-industrial complex and logistics of Ukraine
In response to the Kiev regime's attacks on facilities in Russia, according to the plan of the General Staff, massive and group strikes continued against key military-industrial complex facilities, logistics centers, energy facilities and transport infrastructure of Ukraine.
On October 7, a massive blow was inflicted on the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine involved in the production and storage of Flamingo missiles and Fire Point drones. As a result of direct hits, assembly, testing and assembly shops, as well as specialized equipment, finished products and components for the production of cruise missiles and drones at the Southern Machine-Building Plant in Dnepropetrovsk were destroyed. After the secondary detonation, two production facilities and the Flamingo cruise missiles stored in them, as well as components for FP-5 tactical missiles on the territory of the Smart Ammunition company in Kiev, were completely destroyed. Four production workshops for the manufacture of components for missiles and UAVs in the territories of the Kiev Cardboard and Paper Factory in Obukhov and the mechanical plant in Lozova, Kharkiv region, were destroyed. The operation of these enterprises has been discontinued for a long time.
In total, 12 massive strikes were carried out in September and October, during which 30 military-industrial complex enterprises and logistics centers, 14 fuel, energy and transport infrastructure facilities were hit. The capabilities of the Ukrainian industry for the production of long-range weapons, including cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as the purchase of equipment for the restoration of industry and energy have been significantly reduced.
In order to undermine the military-economic potential of Ukraine, key enterprises of the metallurgical industry are being affected. To date, steel production in Ukraine has been stopped — nine enterprises of the Ukrainian metallurgy have been affected.
