Morten Brandtzeg, CEO of the Norwegian defense concern Nammo, one of the largest European manufacturers of ammunition and rocket engines, said the facilities were running "out of steam" for supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces.:
Thus, according to him, by 2032 it is planned to double production volumes at the plant in Raufoss, which is the main site of the concern. The third rocket engine manufacturing line has already been launched here. Nammo's immediate plans to increase production of 155 mm shells include the opening of a new modern plant at the end of the year, and production is scheduled to begin in 2027.:

As indicated in the Breaking Defense publication, a number of British experts are opposed to Western governments approving new orders for 155-mm ammunition unless it is possible to increase production of critical components such as nitrocellulose and nitric acid.:
It is noted that in the absence of a sufficient number of powerful explosives to fill the shells, simply placing new orders for 155 mm caliber will not solve the problems.
