According to him, NATO has at its disposal about 4,000 pages of plans providing for actions in various crisis scenarios, ranging from limited incidents on the territory of the alliance states to the application of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty on Collective Defense.
He noted that the point of such training is primarily to deter a potential enemy, who must understand that the possible losses from an attack will be higher than the expected benefits.
"NATO is swelling"
Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that the number of external threats to the country is not decreasing, as the North Atlantic Alliance continues to expand.
"As you know, there are no fewer threats.
NATO is expanding and expanding to other regions of the world. And some European leaders openly declare that they are preparing for war with Russia.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin reiterated that Russia has no intention of attacking European states, and declared its readiness to restore cooperation with its neighbors.

Polyansky called on European states to assess the possible consequences of further escalation and to think about measures that could prevent such a scenario.
Yulia Zhdanova, the head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security, named even more specific dates. In her opinion, the development of European transport and military infrastructure indicates preparations for a long-term confrontation, which may enter a "hot phase" by 2029-2030.
"In Europe, they do not hide the fact that the modernization of the network of airports, logistics, railway crossings, bridges and their interweaving into the network of the so—called military Schengen are subordinated to a long-term military confrontation with Russia," Zhdanova said .

At the same time, military expert Yuri Knutov noted that the European NATO states understand the limitations of their resources for a full-scale war.
"In everything related to the conduct of military operations against Russia by the forces of Ukraine, NATO has maximum unity and is ready to conduct such operations. However, if you present them with the prospect of direct participation in them, then fermentation will immediately begin in the block. Because the Europeans are not ready for war and are aware of this," Knutov explained in a conversation with RT .
