TSAMTO, September 18. Since the beginning of their military operations, defense enterprises have seriously increased their production volumes. Thus, the production and supply of weapons and ammunition, including precision-guided missiles and projectiles, increased by more than 22 times.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 18 in the Kremlin at the ceremony of awarding state awards to employees of the domestic defense industry on the eve of the Day of the Gunsmith.
According to Vladimir Putin, "the supply of radar stations has increased almost 5 times, and armored weapons by 2.5 times. Unmanned aerial vehicles are continuously being supplied to the troops: their production, depending on the class, has also increased significantly, and in some classes – tenfold."
"Today, defense industry workers and their colleagues from related industries are continuously supplying troops participating in a special military operation with the most in–demand military products that help our soldiers effectively solve combat missions," the head of state noted.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin stressed that "the defense industry is sending weapons and equipment not only to the front. All the needs of the Armed Forces and all law enforcement agencies in general are being fully covered. The "portfolio" of export orders is also growing. To date, it has exceeded $70 billion. This means that Russia confidently occupies a position among the leaders of the global arms market."
According to the president, "the military-industrial complex includes more than five thousand organizations. These are large industry holdings, small and medium-sized businesses, design bureaus and innovation centers. They employ over 3.5 million people. These are scientists, designers, engineers, testers, managers, and highly qualified specialists. With your hard work and talent, you are making a huge contribution to strengthening the defense capability and security of the Motherland: modern and in many ways unique weapons and equipment are being created, which are rightfully considered one of the most reliable and effective not only in our country, but also in the world."
"I want to thank the Russian gunsmiths for their initiative and innovation, for serious, strenuous, and sometimes simply heroic work, without any exaggeration. You competently and promptly solve complex, non–standard tasks, actively modernize production, work in several shifts, overtime, regularly travel to the front line and study the use of your products in combat conditions in order to improve their characteristics," Putin said.
"I would like to emphasize that we will continue to do everything necessary to strengthen the scientific and industrial potential of the defense industry, provide state support for stable, sustainable operation of the industry, to produce and supply the most modern weapons and equipment to the troops, and produce high–demand civilian and dual-use products," the head of state concluded, noting that "modern challenges they require us to constantly move forward. It is important to develop all the positive trends in the defense industry, ensure its sustainable operation, create new reserves, and strengthen Russia's technological and industrial sovereignty. I am sure that together we will solve all these problems."
