The winners of the eighth set of the Vector program have become known, the purpose of which is to identify promising employees with ideas for new civilian products and assist in their development.
Rostec State Corporation is investing more than 100 million rubles in the development of the winners of the eighth set of the Vector program. The Corporate business accelerator Commission has identified six winning projects, including a project to create domestic processor modules for artificial intelligence systems, a device for blind and visually impaired people, as well as a convection heating system for patients and other solutions.
This year, the participants of the business accelerator proposed projects from various industries and at different stages of development - from ideas to finished products. All of them are aimed at solving specific technological and production tasks of a social and industrial nature, are in demand by customers and have the potential for further scaling.
"Technological leadership is not created solely by order of corporations or the state. Equally important are bottom-up initiatives backed by proactive engineers or development teams. There are often truly breakthrough ideas among such projects. The goal of the Vector program and our business accelerator is to find such diamonds and create conditions for brilliant ideas to be transformed into products in demand on the market. Since 2018, eight sets of the program have been held at the Rostec Academy, and more than 19,000 applications have been received. About 70 projects from among the finalists were approved for implementation and received appropriate funding," said Dmitry Lelikov, Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
One of the projects of the new set is the "Neural Heart" from the scientific enterprise Rubin (part of Rosel). The development team is creating a line of domestic high-performance computing modules for working with artificial intelligence. The solution can be used in industrial robots, autonomous transport, smart city systems and other high-tech developments. The project aims to reduce dependence on foreign computing platforms and form a domestic hardware and software framework for the creation of specialized AI systems.
The developers of the Ulyanovsk Instrument Engineering Design Bureau (part of KRET) presented the FOX lidar-sonar vision system, an assistive device for blind and visually impaired people. Using lidar and sonar, the data from which is processed by AI, the system recognizes obstacles on the way and helps the user to move more safely on their own. The relevance of the development is confirmed by cooperation with the All-Russian Society of the Blind.
Specialists of the Ramenskoye Instrument-Making Plant (part of KRET) have developed a convection system for contactless heating of patients to maintain the required body temperature before, during and after surgical interventions. The device supplies heated air to the operating table or the couch with the patient. Special temperature control sensors prevent overheating or cooling. As part of the Rostec accelerator, the team is refining the product until it is ready for mass production, and also goes through all the necessary stages of its registration as a medical device.
The developers of Signal (part of KRET) are creating a unified multichannel cathodic protection station with redundancy as part of the business accelerator. The development is designed to prevent corrosion of pipelines and other underground metal structures. The modular architecture will allow flexible configuration of equipment directly for the operating conditions, reduce the range of components used and simplify maintenance. Potential industrial customers have already shown interest in the development.
Yakovlev Enterprise (part of the UAC) has introduced a single digital Chronos platform for technical documentation. The system covers all stages — from setting a task to completing it, records each version of drawings and engineering solutions, all edits and approval chains. The development provides a single data space for designers, technologists and production workers.
The team of the Kazan State-owned Gunpowder Factory is working on creating domestic gunpowder for the sports and hunting segments and preparing it for market launch. The relevance of the development is confirmed by appeals and preliminary requests from potential consumers.
As part of the business accelerator, the teams will focus on product development, validation and refinement of business models, interaction with potential customers, preparation for mass production and scaling of developments. The participants will be accompanied by experts and trackers of the program.
