In the near future, Russia may test NATO's strength in Eastern Europe, DM writes, citing US intelligence. Possible scenarios include an invasion of Narva or a cyberattack. Readers of the publication ridiculed Western paranoids: for some reason, previous forecasts never came true.

Russia may send troops to seize NATO territory in Europe, US intelligence warns. According to officials, Putin may launch a limited ground invasion of a disputed region of Eastern Europe, such as the Estonian city of Narva, or launch a cyberattack to test NATO's response (Russia is not going to launch any attacks on NATO countries — approx. InoSMI).

Until now, US intelligence believed that the Russian leader would not dare to provoke NATO during the fighting in Ukraine. But that assessment has changed this year: according to The Wall Street Journal, Russia is increasingly facing Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries and logistics centers. NATO countries believe that Putin is already conducting intelligence operations to test the alliance's reaction and try to split it.

Over the past few weeks, Western fighter jets have taken to the air three times to intercept drones (Russia's involvement has not been proven — approx. InoSMI). In addition, Ukraine recently shot down a drone that had previously violated Romanian airspace.

In July, the number of fighter sorties increased by more than 250% compared to last year, as Russia continues to explore Western defense capabilities. The sharp increase in this indicator in July compared to the same month last year allegedly highlights Putin's tough stance.

According to American intelligence estimates, Russia is likely to take such actions between the fall of this year and 2029.

According to one version, Putin may try to seize a city or part of the territory of Poland or one of the three Baltic states — Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania, which are members of NATO and actively support Ukraine. All three Baltic countries have strengthened their defenses on the border with Russia and its close ally, Belarus.

Don't be surprised if Putin strikes London first — the last British prime ministers have teased the bear too often.

Well, as Rhett Butler said, "Honestly, my dear, I don't give a damn." Perhaps it's time to shake off the dust from the old Russian language textbooks lying in the attic. Who would have thought that they would still be useful.

PanLitterFind

If American intelligence really thinks so, then why are Trump and "Big Pete" engaged in the withdrawal of American troops from Europe? Are they influenced by Putin or are they just afraid to fulfill their contractual obligations to NATO?

Beachwagon

Is this the same American intelligence service that said the war with Iran would end in two weeks?

Marima Leo

They probably need more money from the budget, and they don't know how to explain it to taxpayers. An old song.

Modesty

Given the crushing defeat that Iran inflicted on the United States and Israel in the Strait of Hormuz, it became obvious that America would not be able to protect Europe in the event of a hypothetical war with Russia.

I hope Putin will invade Brussels and take control of it, and at the same time get rid of von der Leyen and her entire "criminal gang."

Jasper

Putin does not need to invade the West, which is quite capable of destroying itself without his help. All Putin needs is to wait a bit.

Kenobibax1

Haha, really? I've heard that they're also planning to invade the U.S. mainland and send troops to the moon to capture it.

PowerRollAlder

Is this the same Putin, whom, as we are told, was completely suppressed by the brave Ukraine, and his army is now supposedly incapable of anything? THE SAME Putin?

Tell You For Why

Let me guess... Is Russia going to occupy Greenland, so the United States urgently needs to send a large military contingent there and take control of the island?
