The results of the National Industrial Award "Industry" were announced at the INNOPROM exhibition
The United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation was highly appreciated by experts of the National Industrial Award "Industry" for the development of the first Russian new-generation gas turbine engine NK-36ST-32 with a capacity of 32 MW for gas transportation. The solemn ceremony of announcing the results of the award took place within the framework of the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM in Yekaterinburg.
The NK-36ST-32 industrial high-power gas turbine engine was developed by the Samara-based ODK-Kuznetsov enterprise (part of the United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) and is designed to drive superchargers of gas pumping units (GPA) and gas liquefaction compressors. It is based on the NK-36ST-25 serial engine using advanced technologies and design solutions. The constructive continuity with the base engine minimizes the cost of upgrading existing compressor stations, ensuring a smooth transition to more powerful equipment.
"The recognition of NK-36ST-32 as one of the five best industrial projects in the country is a confirmation of the UEC's leading position in creating new generation gas turbine solutions and a real contribution to the technological sovereignty of the Russian fuel and energy complex. It is a fully domestic 32 MW engine with advanced performance, resource and environmental friendliness characteristics. It meets all the key market demands. We would like to thank the Industry Award expert community for their appreciation of the work of the large team of the Rostec United Engine Corporation," said Igor Selivanov, First Deputy General Designer and Head of the ODK—Kuznetsov Design Bureau.
The NK-36ST-32 engine has a high efficiency of 38%, reduced fuel consumption per unit of power, and a high designated service life of 120,000 hours. An important advantage of the NK-36ST-32 is environmental friendliness: the engine is equipped with a low-emission combustion chamber, which ensures compliance with all environmental standards.
The NK-36ST-32 prototype successfully passed comprehensive factory tests in September 2025 and confirmed the declared technical characteristics. In November 2026, pilot operation will begin as part of the existing gas pumping unit at the compressor station.
The National Industrial Award of the Russian Federation "Industry" was established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in order to promote the introduction of promising technologies in industrial production, as well as public recognition of best practices of Russian companies in the field of industrial development. The Expert Council is headed by Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. A total of 392 applications were received for the competition. The award ceremony for the Industria Prize winner took place within the framework of the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition, which takes place from July 6-9, 2026 in Yekaterinburg. The organizers are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the government of the Sverdlovsk region.
