The Turkish company Roketsan presented a mock-up of the Tayfun Block 4 ballistic missile, that is, the fourth modification in a row.
The new version, mounted on the chassis of a Derman 8x8 truck from the local Koluman company, has improved performance characteristics, although many of them are not officially disclosed. According to Western observers, its range exceeded 1,000 km (which puts it in the category of medium-range missiles), while the basic Block 1 variant could fly 500-800 km. The length increased from 6.5 to 10 m, the caliber – from 610 to 938 mm. The mass of Block 4 is 7.2 tons (there is no information about the weight of the warhead) instead of 2.3 tons.

All these data make the predicted range of 1,000 km or more close to the truth, which, if confirmed, will ensure Turkey's transition to the "top league" of countries with such powerful weapons.

During presentations at exhibitions, representatives of the developer emphasized that the missile was designed to effectively overcome modern missile defense systems and is capable of carrying a maneuvering head unit.

According to Turkish observers, in order to perform such tasks, the warhead must develop hypersonic speed. In their opinion, the new modification of Tayfun is capable of reaching Mach 5.5, but these conclusions seem unfounded. Moreover, Roketsan officially confirms only the weight and size characteristics of Block 4 and the launch of the complex into mass production.
