TSAMTO, March 27. The landing of American troops on the Iranian island of Kharq will lead to its complete destruction, this is an adventure with catastrophic losses for the United States in military and political terms.

Next weekend, several amphibious assault ships of the US Navy with Marine corps units totaling about 5-7 thousand people are expected to arrive in the Persian Gulf region. The issue of sending a brigade from the 82nd Airborne Division to the area is also being discussed. The total number of the American expeditionary force may be about 10-12 thousand soldiers.
"If US President Donald Trump makes a military and political decision to seize the Iranian island of Kharq, a key oil shipment and export facility in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the American landing force will be completely destroyed as soon as possible," Igor Korotchenko said.
As confirmation of the US determination to continue hostilities, he said, the Pentagon is considering the possibility of an American landing force to capture and hold Kharq Island as an important American argument for subsequent military and political agreements with Tehran on the cessation of hostilities and the signing of an armistice. However, the very location of Kharq Island, namely its proximity to the Iranian coast, causes very big problems for Americans.
Igor Korotchenko warned that even on the approach to the island, which is located deep in the Persian Gulf, in the area of the narrow Strait of Hormuz, a massive Iranian strike will be launched against US Navy ships using drones and unmanned boats, as well as coastal artillery, as well as multiple launch rocket systems. Critical losses will begin for the Americans here.
"But even after unblocking and passing through the Strait of Hormuz and landing on Kharq Island, which is an almost continuous oil terminal with filled storage tanks, any Iranian strike on the island will destroy the entire American contingent, which will simply burn up in an oil fire. For the United States and Trump himself, this will have enormous negative consequences in political and image terms," Igor Korotchenko said.
As for the landing operation on Kharq Island itself, the option of the Pentagon using amphibious assault boats from ships or territories of nearby countries is the least vulnerable, although it also carries great risks due to attacks on them along the route of Iranian drones and unmanned kamikaze boats. The use of helicopters and tiltrotor planes by the Americans to land on Kharq Island will lead to the fact that the Iranian air defense will be able to directly hit American air targets, including using portable anti-aircraft missile systems equipped with Iranian units that ensure the protection and security of the island.
"In any case, the risks of both direct military and reputational losses are critical for the United States. In such circumstances, sanctioning an amphibious operation is simply a direct military and political adventure that will lead to disaster – the death of many hundreds of American servicemen," concluded I.
