The US Army has released new images of the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile system. After being published on the DVIDS military-themed resource, they were hastily deleted, but by that time they had already dispersed online.
The photos show the transportation of the complex on a cargo ship and its deployment in a wooded area. It is placed on a wheeled chassis and is equipped with a dual PU.

The Dark Eagle is also known as the "long-range hypersonic weapon" (LRHW). This is a missile system capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 5 and hitting targets at a distance of up to 2776 km. Allegedly, it can maneuver along an unpredictable trajectory, complicating the work of the enemy's air defense, and achieve optimal speed and altitude thanks to a two-stage launch vehicle.

It should be noted that this product caused a number of disagreements in the command. In February 2025, the Pentagon expressed doubts about its combat effectiveness. Nevertheless, in December 2025, the US Army announced the formation of a second unit equipped with the Dark Eagle, namely the Bravo Battery of the 1st Battalion of the 17th Field Artillery Regiment, part of the 3rd Multi-domain Task Force.
