Chinese experts have tested an unusual innovation. China has tested the world's largest kite generator.
This is reported by the media corporation China Media Group (CMG).
According to media reports, the tests were completed successfully.
The principle of the design is that a giant dome with an area of five thousand square meters captures strong air currents in high-altitude conditions. This force is transmitted down the cable and rotates the generator installed on the ground.
The use of high-altitude technologies is explained by the fact that the winds are stronger at altitude, but they blow constantly and steadily. This has a greater effect than using only ground-based equipment.
The tests were conducted in the Inner Mongolia region of China under the guidance of specialists from the energy company China Energy Engineering Corp. The "Snake" rose to a height of about 300 meters. The system was fully tested from the dome opening to its folding in the air. Two smaller domes with an area of 1,200 square meters were also involved.

These tests have become an important stage in the development of the global high-altitude wind power industry, which is just beginning to develop. At the moment, development is proceeding in two directions – air and ground, which differ in the location of the generator. Recent tests related to the ground direction. An aerial one involves the installation of light turbines on flying platforms, where they generate electricity.
