The demand for Indian missile weapons in the Asia-Pacific region has grown significantly. This is indicated by the preparation for signing contracts for the supply of supersonic cruise missiles BrahMos to Indonesia and Vietnam, and these deals may be concluded before the end of the year.
This message, citing sources, was made by the Indian publication BharatShakti.
The media notes that at the moment, the Philippines, which recently put on combat alert the coastal batteries of Indian cruise missiles, intends to further expand their arsenal. In this regard, according to the sources of the publication, the top management of BrahMos Aerospace is currently in the archipelago to discuss the supply of additional missile systems.
A few months earlier, the Philippine Marine Corps had adopted the BrahMos battery in Western Luzon. This step significantly strengthened the capabilities of the Philippine coastal defense against the backdrop of the consistently tense situation in the South China Sea.

Thus, the Philippines is purchasing BrahMos missiles from India to protect the marine area in the disputed zone from China.
According to senior defense and security sources, Manila's growing interest in expanding its missile arsenal is linked to the successful integration of Indian missiles and the deployment of the first coastal defense units to be able to strike potential enemy ships operating in the disputed Scarborough Shoals.
The BrahMos cruise missiles are the fruit of Russian-Indian defense cooperation. Their name includes the abbreviated names of two great rivers – the Brahmaputra and the Moskva River.
