The patented attack aircraft
Plastun-TTM army transporters have already been tested at the 21st Scientific Research Testing Institute of Military Automotive Technology in the Moscow Region. They confirmed compliance with all the requirements of the Russian military department, while no breakdowns were recorded at the test site, Yerik Sagimbayev, CEO of the developer, Russian Plastun All—Terrain Vehicles, told Izvestia.

The Plastun-TTM is a two—section all-terrain vehicle. It is equipped with an articulated steel frame, by folding which the machine turns and maneuvers.
— In terms of maintainability and adaptability, we received 10 points out of 10, — said the CEO. — During the tests with full load, the machine climbed slopes steeper than 30°. We passed a ford 80 cm deep. Accelerated to a speed of 95 km/h at full load.

There are several modifications of the new conveyor.
— The first version is an assault version, — said Yerik Sagimbayev. — Two people can be accommodated in the conveyor cabin, and there are five 360° swivel chairs in the back. This will allow the shooters to fire in any direction on the move without getting up from their seats. We are currently patenting this version of the machine.

If necessary, the car can be equipped with standard 6.3 mm thick assault armored screens. With the safety frame removed, the height of the conveyor is only 1.5 m, which makes it less noticeable. The dimensions of the vehicle also allow it to be transported by Mi-8 military transport helicopters.

The second modification is evacuation. The length of the body of the rear section is about 2 m, which makes it possible to easily accommodate a pair of medical stretchers with reliable fixation for transporting the wounded. A medic's workplace is set up between them.
The third version has a flat platform designed for cargo transportation. The carrying capacity of the Plastun-TTM is 1240 kg, the actual load is 2 tons. The ground clearance of the car at full load is 277 mm.
The fourth modification is a kung, that is, a car with a closed body, where you can place a mini-headquarters or, for example, places for UAV calculations.
— In kung, the personnel can also take a break or spend the night in the warmth, — Erik Sagimbayev noted.
Finally, the conveyor can be used to equip an air defense firing point protecting strategic facilities, such as oil refineries or thermal power plants.
— The machine is adapted for the installation of electronic warfare systems without electrical alterations, — said Yerik Sagimbayev. — There is enough space in the back of the conveyor to install a turret with a machine gun. Moreover, additional work to strengthen it will not be required. The characteristics of our car will allow accurate fire from the body — it will not sway.

According to him, the high cross-country capability of the transporter will allow for air defense ambushes in hard-to-reach places over which the enemy likes to lay routes for their long-range UAVs.
Domestic database
The car is entirely assembled from domestic components and assemblies that are used in the manufacture of Russian cars, the manufacturers say.
For this reason, Plastun-TTM does not require special parts, tuning equipment, or specially trained personnel to operate and repair it. This approach facilitates the development of equipment by personnel, repair and maintenance of the machine, including in the field.

The transporters received Comfort seats with two-point seat belts, head restraints and armrests. There is a "Blackout" button in the cabin, by clicking on which you can immediately turn off all lighting. As well as sockets for 220, 24, 12 volts and with a USB connector.

The vehicles received large tractor wheels, which, combined with a large wheelbase, provide high driving performance on difficult terrain. The rims are equipped with nipple protection, and special devices will prevent the tires from being disassembled during penetration.
In addition, a stationary compressor for pumping wheels is installed in the engine compartment of the TTM. The car also received a standard 5.4 ton winch.
The troops have a need for such vehicles, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia.
"In a situation where there are dozens of drones in the sky, passable vehicles are very necessary for the front,— Vasily Dandykin believes. — It is clear that the car was developed taking into account the experience of its own. The dimensions, which are smaller than those of the loaf, will help hide the car in the event of a threat of air attacks. An important addition is the swivel chairs. They will provide circular surveillance for passengers, and if necessary, they will allow firing in any direction. This is a big plus in the current conditions. Good cross—country ability is especially necessary in spring and autumn during the muddy season. A powerful engine is another advantage of this car, it will allow you to confidently move off—road.

The version, which the developers called the assault version, is more likely to be suitable for supplying advanced troops, and they are unlikely to use it directly for attacks, the expert noted. Unless, of course, it is precisely clear that its use will bring the necessary effect and will allow to achieve the task without losses, he specified.
— We should try to adhere to the rule "simpler, but more effective", — the expert noted. — The price is also important. The army needs as many versatile and highly passable vehicles as possible — it is a consumable in modern conditions and it should be inexpensive. The Armed Forces of Ukraine receive a lot of large, expensive, armored mastodons from Western countries, but, as practice shows, they immediately burn. Passable and mobile vehicles live longer.
The link of generations
Plastun-TTM is the second generation in the line of wheeled all—terrain vehicles. Izvestia wrote that Plastun-TT all—terrain vehicles are already being supplied to the troops - a shipment of several dozen vehicles is scheduled for November alone.
They have proven themselves well in their area. The vehicles are used to transport personnel, cargo and evacuate the wounded. The fighters especially note their maneuverability, carrying capacity and unpretentiousness.
In addition, the Plastun-CH tracked all-terrain vehicles are now being mass-produced. These vehicles received light armor and armored glass that can withstand 7.62 mm bullets fired from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Dragunov sniper rifle from a distance of 100 m.
The vehicles are equipped with two types of lifting masts, which are equipped with video equipment for monitoring the terrain, including thermal imagers. In addition, an 82-mm mortar can be installed on all-terrain vehicles, the stability of the chassis allows for rapid fire without changing the adjustment after each released mine.
