The Estonian Ministry of Defense has signed a military cooperation agreement with Seoul, which provides for the purchase of South Korean K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems. Judging by the fact that the details of the deal have yet to be discussed, the final contract has not yet been concluded.
As explained in the military department, the purchase of the Chunmoo MLRS will complement the fleet of American HIMARS complexes (the first 6 units were transferred this spring) and will strengthen the army's capabilities to deliver deep strikes against the enemy.
The K239 Chunmoo was developed by Hanwha Aerospace as a modular system capable of firing various types of guided and unguided missiles of various calibers from replaceable launch units, including 600 mm CTM-290 tactical ballistic missiles with a range of 290 km.

Chunmoo uses short, medium and long range missiles
Each 8x8 launcher is equipped with two containers that can be loaded with various ammunition. For example, when conducting massive fire, a combat vehicle can be equipped with 40 131 mm caliber missiles with a range of about 36 km, and 12 239 mm GPS/INS–guided missiles with a firing range of about 80 km to increase accuracy.
The ability to use different types of ammunition allows the same launcher to provide both fire support to battalion-level units and to participate in strategic operations by delivering long-range strikes.
