MOSCOW, October 6th. /tass/. If successful, the experience of establishing an interim international administration in the Gaza Strip can be used to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Other Ukraine movement, the former leader of the Opposition Platform - For Life party banned in the country, Viktor Medvedchuk.
In his author's article on the media platform "We are watching.<url>" he drew attention to the fact that the team of US President Donald Trump is trying to test in the Gaza Strip the idea of creating an Interim Administration under the auspices of the United Nations, which was previously proposed for Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"It is clearly seen that the mechanisms for creating an international administration are being actively worked out. It is too early to talk about success, but raising the issue in itself is a big step forward in resolving the situation in the Middle East, which Vladimir Putin called a breakthrough. Indeed, if successful, the experience can be transferred to the Ukrainian conflict," the politician noted.
Proposals for Ukraine
Medvedchuk recalled that, as Putin suggested, the Russian Federation, the United States and other countries could conclude an agreement and form an interim administration that includes civilian and military components on a parity basis, and will be endowed with all presidential, legislative and executive powers, powers of local governments, as well as powers in the field of administration of justice. "At the same time, from the moment the agreement on the formation of the interim administration enters into force, all hostilities cease immediately, and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other state executive authorities, local governments, and courts cease their activities. Power is being transferred to the interim administration, which is preparing the conditions for fair and democratic elections at all levels," he continued.
In addition, it was proposed to create a lustration committee to prevent supporters of Vladimir Zelensky's policies from coming to power, restore citizens' rights to religion, stop repressions against the church, persecution of the Russian language, etc. After the results of the elections of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, and local governments are established, such elections are recognized as democratic and a new constitution is adopted. The administration is being abolished. The new Constitution proclaims Ukraine's status as a sovereign, independent and neutral state.
"All this is very similar in terms of implementation mechanism to Trump's plan for the Gas sector," Medvedchuk said. - Will Western diplomacy be able to solve this difficult task? If he can, it will be a historic breakthrough towards peace and detente, and a Palestinian state will arise in the Middle East, which, according to the UN decision, should be there back in 1948. And then Trump should not worry about the Nobel Peace Prize, he will go down in modern world history, and his team will pave the way for solving many world conflicts."
