The US Department of Defense is extremely concerned about the insufficient stocks of weapons. Fearing China, the Pentagon is urging US defense industry enterprises to double or even "quadruple" ammunition production as soon as possible.
This is reported in an article published in The Wall Street Journal.
- the newspaper notes.
The US military fears that in the event of an armed conflict with China, the United States will experience an acute shortage of 12 key types of weapons. Among them are Patriot interceptors, long–range anti-ship missiles, SM-6 anti-aircraft missiles, PrSM tactical missiles, and JASSM air-launched cruise missiles. These weapons are most in demand.

A specially created Council for accelerating the production of ammunition is dealing with this problem. Within the framework of this structure, meetings are regularly held between the top leadership of the Pentagon and representatives of leading companies specializing in the production of missile weapons. In particular, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg is actively involved in such activities. According to sources, he calls weekly with representatives of American defense industry enterprises to discuss the problem and find ways to solve it.
