The Israeli company Rafael, together with the Ministry of Defense, completed the final series of tests of the Iron Beam 450, "the world's first operating high–energy laser protection system," as the developer explained, showing the corresponding video.
The final test cycle lasted several weeks in the south of the country. The complex has shown the ability to intercept missiles, mortar ammunition, aircraft and UAVs in various scenarios. Due to the end of the tests, the development of the basic product has been completed and its deliveries to the troops are beginning; the first units will receive a laser installation by the end of the year and will be included in the unified air defense system.

Iron Beam is designed for highly accurate and effective counteraction to aerial threats with minimal interception costs. It is designed to complement existing systems, including Iron Dome, David's Sling and Arrow, and uses Rafael's adaptive optics technology to create a stable and focused beam.
