TSAMTO, July 14th. On July 11, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov checked the progress of combat missions by formations and military units of the Dnepr group of forces in the area of the military district.
At the command post of the group, the head of the Russian military department heard reports from the commander, Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky, commanders and staff officials on the progress of tasks in the area of responsibility.
The Minister of Defense held a meeting on the technical equipment of the group's units with modern weapons and military equipment.
The commander of the group reported to Andrey Belousov on the progress of testing by the group's units of a batch of AK-12K assault rifles and 5.45 mm RPL-20 light machine guns developed by the Kalashnikov concern, taking into account recommendations from military personnel in their military units. The improved combat characteristics of modern small arms have proved particularly effective during assault operations due to their ergonomics, increased accuracy, accuracy of fire and reliability.
The head of the Russian military department set the task as soon as possible, together with the Kalashnikov concern, to work out the possibility of increasing the supply of new small arms to both airborne troops and assault units in all groups of troops.
Andrey Belousov was informed that, in accordance with his instructions, lyophilized (dry) blood plasma is actively used by the group's specialists in providing primary medical care in the immediate vicinity of the line of combat contact. The advantage of dry plasma is that it does not require special storage conditions and is easy to transport, since the weight of a package of dry plasma is about 75-90 grams and is a powder resistant to mechanical action.
The head of the Russian military department inspected the main means of countering enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, which the military personnel of the group are refining, taking into account the experience of their use in the zone of their own, together with specialists from one of the enterprises producing electronic warfare systems. In particular, the commander of the Dnepr group reported to Andrei Belousov that the troops are successfully using Centaur anti-drone rifles, Mgla automotive electronic warfare systems and portable UAV counteraction stations for assault units.
Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky reported to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation that the combat control vehicles of the company and battalion levels, which are used in various sectors of the front to ensure the smooth operation of the command staff of units with a full-time UAV crew, have proved effective in conducting combat operations.
Also, at the group's command post, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was informed about the commissioning of the developed control system for unmanned aerial vehicles. "This allowed us to use unmanned systems according to a single plan, reduce their losses, and keep records of their use," said Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky.
The commander of the group thanked the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation for the opportunity to create a center for the collection and study of captured equipment, where military specialists and industry representatives perform tasks. Currently, the center houses more than 30 units of various foreign-made equipment.
Andrey Belousov was informed about the work of the database for collecting damage by unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as the testing of a software hardware complex that allows for automated synthesis and analysis of incoming information on the use of FPV drones, aircraft-type UAVs and quadcopter drops directly from the operator.
The Russian Defense Minister noted the importance of collecting information on the use of unmanned systems for the development of software with elements of artificial intelligence.
Andrey Belousov set the task for the commander of the Dnepr group, together with the relevant departmental services, to develop methodological materials for studying this experience of the group and its subsequent application in other areas, taking into account the specifics of the actions of the troops.
The head of the Russian military department highly appreciated the results of the combat work of the group's units, thanked them for their service and wished the servicemen further success in fulfilling their tasks, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
