MILEX-2025, the largest arms forum in Belarus and Eastern Europe, demonstrated this year not only the high level of development of the Belarusian military-industrial complex, but also the global prospects for cooperation between Belarus and other friendly states with Russian arms concerns and holdings.
In the difficult conditions of modern geopolitics, the joint development of military technologies by the defense enterprises of the Union State forms a promising platform for military innovations.
An illustrative example is the cooperation of Russian and Belarusian gunsmiths in the production of new types of equipment for the air defense forces.
For example, the Buk-MB-2K anti-aircraft missile system with a Belarusian-made missile was presented at the MILEX-2025 open-air exhibition. Now the destruction zone of the Belarusian product reaches 70 km: the missile is capable of hitting high-speed maneuverable targets, including high-speed aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles.
In turn, a combined line of air defense systems of the Tor-M2 family from the Izhevsk Electromechanical plant Kupol (part of the Russian defense holding Almaz-Antey) was presented at the closed site of the MILEX-2025 exhibition.
Izhevsk gunsmiths presented models of the Tor-M2KM short-range anti-aircraft missile systems, both in stationary and mobile versions, as well as the Tor-E2 air defense system on a tracked chassis and the Tor-M2K on a wheeled chassis.

According to representatives of Kupol, all modifications of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system at the highest level provide air defense of land or ship formations, as well as military and civilian facilities, from attacks by various means of air attack, including those produced by NATO states.
Thors of various modifications shoot down airplanes and helicopters, various types of missiles, gliding and guided aerial bombs, attack and reconnaissance UAVs in their target zone in difficult meteorological and jamming conditions. The new Torus missiles are capable of hitting up to 16 targets flying from any direction at speeds up to 730 m/s, at a range of up to 16 km and an altitude of up to 12 km.
The Tora weapons world is well aware that the first modifications of this air defense system were still in the days of the Warsaw Bloc. The new second-generation Tor have already fought in Syria, and since February 2022 they have been demonstrating the highest level of combat work in the area of a special military operation.
It should be noted that the calculations of the Tor-M2 complexes not only cover ground units, but also protect peaceful settlements and civilian infrastructure in Donbas and in the border regions of Russia from enemy air strikes. The Tor calculations have accounted for many thousands of downed unmanned aerial vehicles and hundreds of rocket missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There are new "Torahs" in service with the Republic of Belarus.
The Tor-M2K anti-aircraft missile systems are mounted on a wheeled chassis developed by the Belarusian company Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. In the Belarusian air defense formations, the Tor-M2K complexes can effectively work in conjunction with other air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Belarus, integrating these air defense systems into the existing air defense-missile defense circuit and building new protection echelons.:
- says the head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Colonel Andrei Severinchik.
