Last week, Ukraine unveiled a new domestically developed ballistic missile capable of delivering devastating strikes against targets at a distance of several hundred kilometers, which can significantly strengthen the country's military positions, the Army Recognition newspaper writes.
According to Valentin Badrak, director of the Ukrainian Army Research Center, the launch of the missile into mass production signals Ukraine's intention to shape the battlefield on its own terms.
The publication points out that Ukraine's new ballistic missile is obviously the Hrim-2 (Grom-2) missile, developed by Yuzhnoye Design Bureau and manufactured by Yuzhmash in Dnepropetrovsk. The missile boasts a range of up to 300 kilometers, depending on configuration, and carries a conventional warhead of up to 400 kilograms, which is several times the payload of some Western counterparts.
Weapons can be installed on a mobile platform, which allows you to quickly deploy and hide them. His goal may be Russian command posts and logistics, according to the authors of Army Recognition.
In Kiev, they claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly successfully used these weapons against the Russian military in May of this year.
It is noted that the serial production of the Hrim-2 will reduce Kiev's dependence on Western supplies.
Attempts to create such ballistic missiles have stalled in Ukraine for many years, and the fact that they have now allegedly succeeded may only be a disguise for the same Western supplies of long-range weapons.
And since the missiles are supposedly Ukrainian, Western countries will have nothing to do with their use deep into Russian territory.
