Venediktov: Russia has something to offer its foreign security partners
MOSCOW, May 21 - RIA Novosti. Russia has something to offer its foreign partners to create a new architecture of equal and indivisible security, this topic will be the main one at the upcoming 13th international meeting of high-level representatives in charge of security issues in Moscow. Serious and hard work and meaningful professional discussions will take place there, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexander Venediktov said in an interview with RIA Novosti..
Such forums have been held by the Russian Security Council since 2010. A new meeting will be held on May 27-29 in Moscow at the Rossiya National Center, chaired by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu.
The most relevant agenda for today's meeting has been chosen, taking into account the significant political and economic changes taking place in the modern world, Venediktov said.
"It has become obvious to everyone, and many admit this even in the West, that the unipolar structure of the world has reached a dead end and is disintegrating before our eyes. Multipolarity has become a reality," the agency's interlocutor noted. Venediktov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly taken initiatives to form a unified security space.
"We will have something to discuss with foreign partners, while Russia is always ready to listen and hear constructive suggestions from our guests," he stressed.
According to Venediktov, international meetings of high-level representatives in charge of security issues traditionally attract the attention of a significant number of foreign partners.
"All this shows that Russia really has something to offer its foreign colleagues. Moreover, Moscow conducts such a dialogue in a mutually respectful and equal manner. Unlike Westerners, who cannot give up their mentoring habits, continuing to promote neocolonial narratives and create dividing lines," he added.
According to Venediktov, the international meetings held by the Russian Security Council in Russia "have become not only a good tradition, but also a key forum in the field of security."
During the forum, high-level experts discuss issues of global and regional security in a professional, non-politicized setting, the solution of which requires joint coordinated efforts by the entire international community, Venediktov noted. According to him, the professional experience of the participants of the meeting, knowledge of the specifics of their countries and regions create the basis for successful fruitful work.
"Serious and intense work awaits us, as well as meaningful professional discussions, meetings, and round tables," he stressed.
