В как насчет новейших изменений на поле боя - в том числе даже против "партизан"? Я о FPV-дронах и дронах-камикадзе, которые способны атаковать танк и с боков, и сзади, и сверху. В том числе - по БК в кормовой нише башни, прикрытого только противопульной броней (сзади и сбоку), и вышибной панелью - сверху.

Укропитеки берегут Abrams'ы - чтобы не огорчать "заморских побратимов", и не портить им пропагандистскую картину. Ну не идут в атаку/на прорыв оброны только с бронебойными и картечными снарядами, и с бронировнием только "лба".
Тут (в этом высказывании) только одна "натяжка" - насчет "Russian anti-tank crews who had thoroughly studied the tanks weak points". Чего там изучать-то - у Abrams'а ВЕЗДЕ "weak points", кроме лобовой брони башни и корпуса. Ну, проектировали его так в 70-80-ые гг. XX в. :)  По примеру конструкторов III рейха с Pz.V Panther.

Конечно, самый "выживаемый" - потому, что самый менее используемый, а если используемый - то в условиях ПОЛНОГО превосходства по причине новизны (наличия только устаревшего оружия у противника, а не превосходства в новизне вообще), превосходства своей стороны в воздухе, а артиллерии, и в разведке. И используемого ТОЛЬКО ТАМ, где заранее известно о ПОЛНОМ ПРЕВОСХОДСТВЕ.

По-настощему превосходство Abrams'а над советскими танками в Ираке (уже после убийства СССР русскими интеллигентами, холуями, блядями, и уголовниками) - самом серьезном противнике Abrams'а за все время -  и превосходство бесспорное - это опережение с внедрением и использованием тепловизоров. Впрочем, тепловизионный канал прицеливания можно добавить и не только в новый танк. Что русские, кстати, и сделали.

On the other hand, the Abrams’ weight and engine make it a logistical burden. It’s heavy weight makes it prone to tearing up local infrastructure and its engine requires frequent maintenance and refueling. Its armor, while still heavy and reliable, is no longer sufficient against modern ATGMs.

Что-то Исаак начал статью "за здравие", а завершает "за упокой". Впрочем, тут виноват не автор, а сам танк Abrams. Это тупиковая ветвь. Ни в одной стране, кроме США, такой танк не стали бы производить - про причине ТРЕТЬЕСТЕПЕННОЙ роли сухопутных сил США, т.е. US Army, по сравнению с другими видами ВС.

The Abrams is also vulnerable to FPV drones who can precisely strike its weak points. Tank is also very large; its distinct profile makes it easy to spot by enemies with any sophisticated ISR capabilities.
